Ankle sprains are common daily injuries happen to different sex and ages. Proper treatment is important to avoid repeating the injury. In some cases, due to compensation, other body parts maybe affected which complicate the disease thus delay recovery.
Application of R.I.C.E is widely used by ankle sprain:
R - rest and immobilisation
I - Ice work best during the first 24-72 hours after injury
C - Compression can be done by using bandage or brace to keep down swelling
E - Elevation to reduce swelling
